We're starting this series with everyone's favourite marketing guru, Seth Godin. Seth has a world of knowledge in marketing, but he also has valuable insights into work, education, and life in general. 

In this blog, Seth argues for empathy in instruction.

It's obvious that learning is difficult when you don't know what you don't know.

This makes teaching difficult, too - which is why the work educators do is a prime example of what Seth calls "emotional labour". 

It's a valuable reminder that educators do important work that's harder than it looks. If we're aiming for a better future, we should try to support them as much as we possibly can.
